Isaignani Ilaiyaraja will be inaugurating the 91st annual music conference and concerts held in the prestigious Chennai Music Academy during this month and it is popularly known as the 'December Festival or 'Margazhi Tiruvizha'. The inaugural function is set to happen this evening.

Music Academy has been the hub where Carnatic music was nurutured and made to flourish in Tamil landscape. Over the years many Carnatic music legends have been honoured by the academy and also many talents have been identified and provided the right platform by this iconic institution.

For the first time Ilaiyaraja who has scored music for over 1000 films and has won many awards, including national awards has got the honour of inaugurating the prestigious festival of Carnatic music.

It must be noted that Ilaiyaraja has explored Carnatic music more than any other music director in Indian films.

It is a well deserved honour for our own Maestro and it is proud moment for every film music buff
