'Dharti' is finding good attention for itself, what with it's promos blazing across music channels and the film finding some good hype building for itself. In the film Jimmy Shergill plays an Air Force officer who finds himself involved in the politics of Punjab - his own 'dharti'. This isn't the first time though that Jimmy has played an Officer. In 'Yahaan', Jimmy had played an Army officer while in his lesser known flick 'Agnipankh', he had played an Air Force officer.

"In 'Agnipankh' I had to shoot inside a MIG 21 and had spent time at air bases in Srinagar and Pune. So yes, I have had an experience of donning a uniform," laughs Jimmy, "Many folks get awed by the entire experience but for me I had already been through the drill before, 'Dharti' didn't make me go like 'Oh my god, na can't conceal her excitement here.'

He plays a Squadron Leader in 'Dharti' but didn't actually fly a Jaguar himself. In fact the shots of the flying Jaguar actually feature trained pilots while Jimmy's close up shots were used to complete the scene.

"Yes, what's the point in claiming something if you haven't done that. I didn't actually fly a Jaguar but I liked the experience of sitting in it," says Jimmy, "There is a science behind all of it as well. How the cockpit opens, the way you buckle up and then there is this entire language used by Officers as they get ready to fly Jaguars; it was pretty informative."

'Dharti' hits the screens on 22nd April.
