It has been rumoured that Hyderabad is going to have a thorough lockdown, the kind seen in March and April soon. A section of web media has even reported Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav as confirming the rumour.

However, widespread confusion is still prevalent. So far, there is no indisputable news about the lockdown. Is the K Chandrasekhar Rao government really planning a blanket lockdown in Hyderabad? Or is the rumour a hoax?

Commenting on the issue, senior journalist Dinesh Akula tweets, "Loads of confusion... Reports on a possible 2nd lockdown from next week. A few States have clarified such rumours as false. What's the status in Telangana?"

To be sure, someone really big, like the Chief Minister, has to clarify. Till then, it's just unverified news.

In Tamil Nadu, for example, its Chief Minister himself said on Friday that rumours of a Chennai-wide lockdown are false. It seems lockdown rumours are not specific to Telangana. Many States have been witnessed such incredible rumours, including Maharashtra. WhatsApp has been deployed by rumourmongers to a scintillating effect!
