For everything you gain, you lose something else` goes the English axiom. True indeed, at least, when it comes to Indian Cinema because here when a competent actor becomes a Superstar` he is compelled to do films, that his heart does not permit but he has to oblige the producers as huge money is staked over him.
From the golden old days when Dilip Kumar was superstar to Shah Rukh Khan every superstar had to pay a price for his stardom. Be it Dilip Kumar`s BAIRAAG, Rajesh Khanna`s BAHARON KE SAPNE, Amitabh Bachchan`s GANGAA JAMUNAA SARASWATI each superstar has done some movies against their wish.
Likewise Shah Rukh Khan, who would soon be turning 50 years on November 2, has a hitch that he has not been able to exploit his full potential as actor and aspires to do quality films like Superstars Aamir Khan and Kamal Haasan.
True in the annals of Indian Cinema it is just Aamir Khan and Kamal Haasan who have done movies that have exploited their talent to their hilt and yet both have remained in the commercial cinema format. Shah Rukh probably wishes to ape Aamir Khan and Kamal Hassan.
In a recent interview Shah Rukh Khan has revealed his future plans and the kind of films he would be doing after crossing 50 years. He said, "My first priority would be to do films that offer me challenging roles and I am able to do a verity of roles that satisfies my inner urge of an actor."
"Hence I have decided that from 50 to 55 I would surely be doing at least one off-beat film that satisfies my hunger and quenches my histrionics. And then I would do a film that keeps me physical fit and the third, of course to keep me monetarily healthy," he smiled.
"In nut shell I will be doing minimum three films a year`s which means a net 15 films by the time I turn 55 years," he quipped.
