Is it end of Vishal's fame in Telugu?

  • IndiaGlitz, [Friday,January 08 2010]

Tamil actor Vishal had hoped to script his own success story in Andhra Pradesh, after his Pandem Kodi made him popular in the summer 2005. In the euphoria, he acted in two bi-linguals, Pista and Salute, hoping to build upon his niche image. But after the two films saw a complete route out at the box office, there was no news from him as yet.

It seems that, finally, Vishal has learnt that he cannot be adventurous all the time. This is the reason why his next Tamil film Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai, is not going to see a Telugu version. Forget bi-lingual, the film will not even be dubbed.

Does that mean the Vishal chapter is over, like that of many Tamil actors in the past? Highly likely, because, if the poor response generated by Pistha and Salute are anything to go by, it is difficult for him to limp back in some time, despite the big time publicity employed for them.

There is, of course, a way out. The Telugu audience are vexed at the beaten track of his films. Renvenge dramas and action stuff presented without a miss in his films is making them reject his films. If he comes up with distinctive themes, he is sure to see success here too.
