Is Ant-Man Going To Fight An Avenger?

With 'Ant-Man' gearing up for next month's release, there has been talk about how exactly the hero will be introduced into the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We now know that Paul Rudd will be reprising his role as Scott Lang/Ant-Man for 'Captain America: Civil War'. However, could his first interaction with the Avengers happen in the 'Ant-Man' movie itself?
News now coming in suggest that Rudd and the rest of the 'Ant-Man' writers did mull over the idea considering the film is basically a heist story. Here's what Rudd had to say:
"Essentially, this is a heist film, and if you look at the structure of heist films, there is always a test run and the test run fails. In talking about what could be a good test run, we were just playing around with conversations and thought, 'Oh my God, what if he actually fought an Avenger?' We started getting really giddy about this idea. It seemed like that would be a fun way to incorporate the universe into this film."
It's now confirmed that the idea of an Ant-Man and an Avenger fight was brought up initially, but that got incorporated into the film remains to be seen after Rudd neither confirms nor denies the possibility. We can only know when the film hits theatres.
Below is the film's official synopsis:
"With the ability to shrink in size but grow in strength, a con man (Paul Rudd) must help his mentor (Michael Douglas) protect the secret of his 'Ant-Man' suit and pull off a heist that will save the world."
'Ant-Man' arrived in theatres on July 17.
