Iru Mugan
Actor Vikram has teamed up with young director Anand Shankar, who proved his mettle with his debut film 'Arima Nambi'. This film is the 52nd film of Vikram as an actor and it has been titled as 'Iru Mugan'.
Nayanthara who is undoubtedly the top heroine in Kollywood is pairing up with Vikram for the first time in this film while Nithya Menen has been roped in for another female lead character. The supporting cast includes Nasser, Thambi Ramaiah, Riythvika and many others.
The shooting of the film which has been shot in various locations including Malaysia, Ladakh and Chennai has been wrapped up recently and the post-production works have started.
Vikram plays dual roles in the film touted to be a stylish action thriller. One is that of a RAW agent who goes to Malaysia on a mission. Vikram also plays Love, the antagonist. This is a effeminate character but not a transgender as revealed by the director.
RD Rajasekhar has done the cinematography for the film. Harris Jayaraj has done the musical score.
The first teaser of the film released on April 17 marking Vikram’s birthday and the teaser of a romantic number featuring Vikram and Nayanthara in their ravishing best with beautiful backdrop have increased the expectations over the film to sky levels. The audio tracks were released on August 2 along with the film's trailer.
‘Iru Mugan’ has been produced on a grand scale by Shibu Thameens and it has acquired a U/A certificate and will be hitting the screens on September 8, 2016.
