After raking in the highest overseas Box office figures till date for an Irrfan Khan starrer, 'Hindi Medium' is now set for an extended release internationally.
The film already raked in over 13 crores in the international box office through traditional markets which comprises of U.K., USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. This makes it the most successful film for Irrfan solo starrer in overseas market, way ahead of the collections of 'Talvar' which collected 4.6 Cr and 'Madaari' which collected close to 2 Cr.
After becoming one of the only successful films this year at the Domestic Box Office the film is certainly on a continued high internationally too. The makers of the film are now planning to release the film in non traditional markets too. These usually include Asian markets, rest of Europe, parts of South America and some parts of Africa. This will certainly take the success of the film higher especially considering the fact that Irrfan is a popular name in these markets owing to the reach of his previous international works.
Speaking about this development, Vibha Chopra, Head - Zee Studios International (Film Marketing, Distribution and Acquisition), said, "While Hindi Medium has made inroads in many traditional markets, we are keen to take it to non-traditional overseas markets too with the Zee might. Despite all the clutter of films that surrounded Hindi Medium in the overseas market it becomes even more imperative that a great movie like this isn't lost".
