Megastar Chiranjeevi on Tuesday said that reckless writing by journalists has caused pain to him and his family in the past. He made the remark in the context of Vijay Deverakonda's fight against "fake news" and "gossip websites".

"Dear Vijay Deverakonda, మీ ఆవేదన నేను అర్ధం చేసుకోగలను.బాధ్యతలేని రాతల వల్ల,మీలా నేను నా కుటుంబం బాధపడిన సందర్భాలు చాలా ఉన్నాయి.We stand by you. Pl don't let anything deter your spirit to do good. Humbly request Journo friends not to peddle individual views as news," Chiranjeevi tweeted out.

Earlier, Mahesh Babu had supported Deverakonda. It was the 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' actor who called upon the film industry to kill gossip websites.

After Mahesh's call, Ravi Teja, Rana Daggubati, Koratala Siva, Kajal Aggarwal, Vamshi Paidipally and others came out in support of Vijay. Chiru's support is a major development.
