Irra Mor debuts with 'Bhairava Geetha', which is hitting the screens on November 30. In this interview, the youngster talks about her role in the movie, her background and more.

What is your role in the village-based drama?

Geetha is a strong, independent woman with strong values. She comes back to her village after studying in London. She is an atheist who believes in the equality of all men and women. When she stumbles upon discrimination practised in her own house, she doesn't like it. The movie deals with slavery, bondage, etc.

How was it working with Dhananjay, your co-star?

Dhananjay makes his colleagues very comfortable in his company. Whenever I was not comfortable in front of so many people, he would tell me to live in the moment and see it as a profession.

How was it to face the camera for the first time?

I come from a background where I was brought up without knowing fear. But I was shy in the beginning in front of the camera. Nervousness is common in front of the camera. It reduced a lot because of my theatre background. I did theatre for about 2 years. It helped me a lot to face the camera. Then, my director, co-stars were there to calm me down.

What was the hardest part of working on 'Bhairava Geetha'?

There was a lot of running. It was not tough because I have played sports always. But since we were shooting in a remote area, we were not connected. There no phones, no Internet. It's an action-packed film and scaling heights in some sequences was very difficult. I was not comfortable with the kisses also because it's our first movie. But overall it was a nice experience with the characterization, etc. This is a performance-based role and around my character, so much happens.

What kind of an actor are you?

I always get nervous only if I am not prepared. Even when I have to speak two lines, I have to do my homework. People shouldn't doubt my abilities because of my lack of filmi background. I am willing to do all kinds of versatile roles.

Coming from a non-filmi background, was it always difficult to foray into the industry?

I always wanted to be an actress but because of my father, I never thought I will be able to do it. I took my stance and told one day to my parents about my wish. I come from a very strict family. I never thought of even communicating it to them. When I told my parents, they took lightly. They are educated and they know things. My father is a lawyer, my mother a professor.

What kind of films are you going to do in future?

I want to work with good story-tellers. I don't mind about the length of my role. It's the character that matters the most. Quality is more important. That's how I see it. A lot of things are coming, just wait for some time.

What's your take on the Me Too movement?

Good that girls are speaking out. I have also heard of some people faking it. I have no idea which ones are true, which ones are not. We should keep our working place clean.

Do you watch Telugu movies?

I used to watch a lot of Ravi Teja sir's movies, Mahesh Babu sir's movies on TV. I have watched 'Mahanati', 'Arjun Reddy' recently.
