Think more than twice before letting words slip out of your mouth as sometimes they may turn out to be fatal. From his own experience, Sanjay Dutt would have now clearly understood this principle to be followed by established as well as wannabe politicians.

At a press conference that Sanjay attended after being launched as a candidate of Samajwadi Party, the actor said "Women should not stick to their father's surname after marriage. It is disrespectful to their husbands. They must adopt their husband's surname. I would have felt bad if Manyata had stuck to her father's surname".

The view of Sanjay was aimed at his sister Priya Dutt, with whom the actor has lately been experiencing a strained relationship. Time to give out explanations has started for the B-Town Baba as women activists are seeing Sanjay's theory as an insult to them.

Renuka Chowdhury, Women and Child Development Minister is of the opinion that lessons on the constitutional rights of women should be taught to aspiring politicians like Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay Dutt by letting out his thoughts has also given his opposition candidates in Lucknow a potent weapon to be used against him during the campaign phase.

Activist Pragya Nath says "Sanjay Dutt's comments were not just patriarchal, they were also unconstitutional. A person has every right-legally and constitutionally to choose his or her surname. An aspiring politician like him and a veteran like Amar Singh block the autonomy of women's rights".

More damage comes in the form of opinion of several ladies who says that Sanjay's opinion shows that he has not imbibed the true meaning of the concept of "Gandhigiri" propagated by his flick 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'.

Think twice before you utter something Sanju baba, because your words might turn weapons against you.
