Imman and director Sundar C share a good rapport. They have combined several times before successfully. In, Rendu, Imman seems to have delivered what the director wanted from him.

Unlike his earlier films, Imman has gone a step ahead and tried fusion of Classical and folk stuff. A right mix of soft and peppy songs, Imman has shown that he has in him the talent to make it big. Also the lyrics deserve a special mention. Quite catchy and simple to understand.

Mobila Mobila, sung by Imman himself, is the pick of the album.

Yaro Evalo (Ranjith)

Imman has opted to go the Harris way. The song has peppy beats accompanying all through with a soft rap in the interlude, quite similar to Harris Jeyaraj's music style. Ranjith's brisk voice and use of additional percussion gives life to the song, which is about a youth describing his love.

Kurai Ondrumillai (Adarsh, Jey)

The song reminds one of Imman's earlier works.  A brisk tune with heavy instruments, and it is deja vu time, folks. A chorus in the middle of the song is pleasant to hear followed by good use of tabla.

Mobila Mobila (Imman, Maya)

Inspired by the beach house music of Goa, Imman has mixed and match with a certain amount of elan. With  guitar and drums hogging the center stage, the song has a groovy music with soft interludes. Imman, hitherto known for singing western stuff, has tried his luck at a soft number. And what more, he has pulled it off with a modicum of comfort.

Nee En Thozhiya (Naresh Iyer, Sujatha)

Indeed the pick of the album. A fusion of classical and folk music, the song has all the ingredients to make it big at the audio charts. Imman has opted to use less instruments and give more thrust on the vocals. Itworks out for him. The catchy lyrics and a good chorus give the song a lift.

Sujatha is impressive while the young Naresh Iyer shows why he is talked of very highly by the experts. A good one, indeed.

Varta Varta (Adharsh, Lavanya)

Imman has recreated a Rajasthani folk number and has carefully chosen instruments which are quite common in Rajasthan. But typical to his style, he has come up with peppy rap, in the middle. Adharsh and Lavanya have combined well to infuse energy in the number. On the whole, Rendu doesn't disappoint and sadly doesn't whet the appetite too.
