Iraivi
After back to back super hits and critically acclaimed flicks 'Pizza' and 'Jigarthanda', young director Karthik Subbaraj has completed his third feature film 'Iraivi'.
The film is a multi-starrer with a mouth-watering star caste of VIjay Sethupathi, Anjali, Bobby Simha, SJ Suryah, Kamalini Mukharjee and Pooja Devariya playing important roles. Karunakaran, Radharavi and many other prominent actors form part of the supporting cast. Veteran theater artist Seenu Mohan makes a comeback to silver screen after many years with this film and he plays an important supporting character.
The teaser and trailers were well received by the film buffs and critics and it is difficult to guess the storyline or plot with what has been revealed in the trailers. However, it is evident that the film will be a tribute to woman power going but its title and also the song 'Manidhi.' Subbaraj in his media interactions about the film has said that 'Iraivi' is the story of women Chithis and Athais (Tamil words for Paternal and Maternal aunts).
The director's regular music partner Santhosh Narayanan has scored music for the film and the songs that were releases earlier this month has been topping the music charts and are repeatedly aired in FM channels. Sivakumar Vijayan has handled the cinematography while Vivek Harshan has done the Editing for the film.
'Iraivi' has been produced by C.V.Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainments banner and this is his second film with Karthik Subbaraj after 'Pizza'. Studio Green and Abi & Abi banners are involved in the distribution of the film, which is all set to hit the screens on June 3, 2016.
