IPS officer D. Roopa Yadav served as the DIG of prisons in the Parapana Agrahara in Bengaluru when she was embroiled in a controversy as she exposed special treatment meted to the high profile political prisoners V.K. Sasikala and her kin. She was then transferred from her post by the Karnataka government but earned a good name in the public for her boldness.
Roopa Yadav has now turned a playback singer for a new Kannada movie 'Peyaladadha Bheemanna'. The team had apparently heard her sing in an event and approached her and she had agreed because it was not a usual duet but an inspirational number. Roopa has stated that she is trained in Hindustani classical and used her knowledge while singing the song and shared that she is a fan of Shreya Ghoshal.
