The Tamil Nadu Farmers Association has requested BCCI and the IPL management to stop conducting matches in Chennai till the Central government sets up the Cauvery Management Board. The Chepauk the home ground of Chennai Super Kings will host seven matches between 10th to 20th April.
Protests are becoming widespread as the Central government is hesitant to set up the Cauvery Management Board in spite of the time lapsed from the Supreme Court order. Earlier popular music director James Vasanthan too had aired similar sentiments that if the first match in Chennai Chepauk between CSK and KKR is boycotted the empty stadium could call on the attention of the national and international media on the issue .
