England and Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Sam Curran, who was recently part of the national team's Test squad against India, has arrived at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today, three days after the arrival of the Indian team players.
However, the all-rounder will miss the opening match of the UAE leg of IPL between CSK and Mumbai Indians, as all players and support staff members are required to undergo a mandatory 6-day quarantine, as per the guidelines. Besides scoring 186 runs in IPL 2020, Sam Curran also picked up a total of 13 wickets in the season. Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir and Dwayne Bravo, on the other hand, will not have to undergo hard quarantine as they are shifting directly from the CPL bubble. Although the probable unavailability of Faf du Plessis for the opening match as well has left viewers concerned.
The South African batsman recently suffered a groin injury due to which he had to miss a couple of CPL matches. By the end of the first session of IPL 2021, MS Dhoni led CSK secured the second position on the points table after winning five out of its seven matches.
