The second half of IPL 2021 is all set to kickstart this weekend at UAE. The Indian Players arrived in UAE three days ago. Due to the corona pandemic, the IPL 2020 season was relocated to the UAE and no fans were permitted into the stadiums. The audience wasn't allowed in the first half of IPL 2021 although it took place in India after the first wave.
Now, the latest news is that a limited number of spectators will be allowed into the stadiums for the first time after 2019. The T20 league will resume on September 19 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, with the defending champions, Mumbai Indians, taking on the Chennai Super Kings.
The BCCI announced in a media release on Wednesday that the audience would return to IPL matches after two years owing to the coronavirus epidemic, which forced teams to play in the bio-bubble format. This match will be a historic event as the IPL welcomes fans back to the stadiums following a temporary pause due to the Covid-19 issue, noted in the statement.
BCCI mentioned this as a momentous occasion as they allow fans in the stadiums as India has recorded a new low number of COVID cases in the past few days. Although it did not specify the exact number of seats that would accessible to fans, the sources said nearly 50% occupancy can be expected. Fans can buy tickets starting September 16 for the remainder of the tournament on the official website IPLT20.com. Tickets can also be purchased on PlatinumList.net.
