Earlier today, Indiaglitz has reported to you that BCCI is planning to conduct the last two league matches of IPL 2021 at the same time for the first time. Also, the board has broken a few other exclusive news to the media on Tuesday.

The Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) informed the date on which the two new teams for the 2022 season will be announced. Previously, we updated you that the auction for new IPL teams to take place on October 17 tentatively. Now, BCCI has stated that the two new IPL franchises will be announced on October 25.

The new teams will be revealed a day after the India-Pakistan encounter in the T20 World Cup tournament. The board also decided to extend the date for purchasing the Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the right to own and operate one of two proposed new IPL teams document till October 10 from the initial deadline of October 5.

Meanwhile, the IPL Media Rights tender for the cycle 2023-2027 will be released immediately after the appointment of two new IPL teams. BCCI said in a media release, "The IPL Media Rights tender for the cycle 2023-2027 will be released immediately after the appointment of two new IPL teams which is scheduled to be announced on 25th October 2021."
