The much anticipated IPL 2020 schedule has just been released by BCCI and as expected the opening clash would be between M.S. Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings vs Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians on September 19th at Abu Dhabi at 7.30 pm IST. The tournament will be played in the UAE across three locations - Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
There will be 56 league matches played over 46 days between Sep 19th to Nov 3rd and then three playoffs and finally the finals on November 10th. There will be 10 double headers with the first match starting at 3:30PM IST and 2:00PM UAE time. All evening matches will start at 7:30PM IST and 6:00PM UAE time. In all, 24 matches will be held in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi and 12 in Sharjah
The IPL s being played in UAE after six years and this is the second time it's being played in the middle east and the third outside the country with the 2009 edition played completely in South Africa. Back in 2014, the BCCI hosted the first 20 matches of the league in UAE due to General Elections. This year, the COVID-19 situation has forced the country's most popular sporting event to foreign shores once again.
