Director Gautham Vasudev Menon had made his digital debut last year with the web series Queen, which was inspired by the life of yesteryear superstar and former CM of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa.
This series which streamed on MX player starred Ramya Krishnan, Anjana Jayaprakash, Indrajith Sukumaran and Anikha Surendran and was jointly directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Kidari fame Prasath Murugesan.
Now, Queen has won an international recognition, as it has won Best original series award at Singapore Asian academy creative awards, and Ramya Krishnan expressed her joy and revealed the news tweeting "Elated that #Queen won Best Original Series at Singapore’s Asian Acadamy creative awards on the very same day we started filming-December 5th! Competing against shows across all Asian countries. A shoutout to team #Queen."
