Actor Vishnu Vishal had last year acted in the thriller movie Ratsasan, directed by Ramkumar. This movie was the second from the actor - director team after the successful rural comedy Mundasupatti. Ratsasan was produced by Axess Film factory, and released along with 96.

Also starring Amala Paul and Saravanan, the movie had music by Ghibran and was about a police officer solving a murder mystery, and was one of the major hits of 2018. Now, the film has won international awards. Ratsasan has won two awards in the Los Angeles Theatrical release competition and awards.

Axess Film factory announced Ratsasan winning the awards by tweeting "We are thrilled to announce that #Ratsasan has won, ‘Best Musical Score’ and ‘Best Action Sequence’ Awards at #LATCA (Los Angeles Theatrical Release Competition & Awards) Thank you all for your love and support!". The production house is now producing GV Prakash's Bachelor and Ashok Selvan's Oh My Kadavule.
