A Madurai court has ordered an interim stay against the release of 'Samar', Vishal's upcoming movie, while hearing a petition filed by a producer called Vijay.

In his plea, Vijay alleged that he was producing a movie under the title 'Samar', with newcomers in the lead roles. "We have registered the title in the Film and TV Producers Association last year and have renewed it this year," he said.

Stating that a Vishal-Trisha starrer film produced by Ramesh Thandra and directed by Thiru was also being made under the same name, Vijay requested the court to issue a stay on the film.

When the petition came up before Fifth Additional Session Court Judge Jothiraman, he ordered an interim stay on Vishal starrer 'Samar' and directed its producer to file a reply before August 31.
