Actress Trisha has been on a success streak, with the romantic hit 96 co-starring Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi released last year, and this year's Pongal release, the Superstar Rajnikanth starrer Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj which became a superhit at the box office.

The actress has a number of movies lined up like Garjanai, Paramapatham Vilaiyattu, Raangi directed by M Saravanan and written by AR Murugadoss, Sugar which will have her joining hands with Simran after Jodi and Petta and many more movies which are being shot.

The latest speculation making rounds is that Trisha might be signed to play the female lead in an upcoming Malayalam movie that will be directed by Papanasam director Jeetu Joseph and this movie will have Mohanlal playing the lead role. While an official clarification on this speculation is expected soon, it must be noted that Trisha debuted in Malayalam with Hey Jude starring Nivin Pauly.
