There has always been a craze for historical movies in film industry and an excitement among fans to witness their favourite stars in historic looks. Currently director Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is under production.

Now the latest buzz is that director Susi Gensan who had last directed the successful Thiruttu Payale 2 is planning to direct a biography of Queen Velu Nachiyar. The director is also planning to rope in lady superstar Nayanthara to play the role of Velu Nachiyar.

While Nayanthara is yet to give her nod, it must be noted that Rani Velu Nachiyar was a queen of Sivaganga estate between 1780 - 1790, and was the first Indian queen to fight the East India Company in India. Nayanthara was seen last year in the historical Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy starring Chiranjeevi.
