Mike Krieger and Kevin Systrom founded the photo sharing app Instagram in 2010 and in two years later Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg bought the company for a staggering 1 billion dollars. The duo continued at the head of the company for the six years but have now decided to quit citing to "explore our curiosity and creativity again". However business media in the US have suggested that Systrom and Krieger did not see eye to eye with Zuckerberg in the way Instagram is moving forward.
Mark Zuckerberg in his statement "“Kevin and Mike are extraordinary product leaders and Instagram reflects their combined creative talents, I’ve learned a lot working with them for the past six years and have really enjoyed it. I wish them all the best and I’m looking forward to seeing what they build next.”
Instagram which was started with sixteen people working now has over a thousand employees and offices all over the globe with a phenomenal 1 billion users and the growth is much higher than the parent company, Facebook.
