'Hug', Puri Jagannadh's first short-film, has been released. At about 3.35 minutes, the English-language video is high on message, aesthetics and 'natural' lines.
A group of men and women are seen individually hugging the trees in a lush jungle. In the tight embrace of Mother Nature, they are seen feeling serene and calm. Talk of the ultimate harmony. They hug the trees like the tribal women who participated in Uttaranchal's Chipko Movement decades ago. A similar movement took place in Karnataka and it came to be known as the Appiko Movement.
"They don`t need us. We need them," is the caption.
What about the technical elements? Sandeep Chowta's score and Anil Paduri's visual effects are high-class for a short-film. "Strongly recommend earphones for this Video for the best Experience," the makers advice.
Mainly featuring actress-model Isabella, the voice heard is that of Katerina Krivenko. Junaid Siddiqui has edited the film.
