Inimel song: Shruti Hassan, Lokesh livens up Kamal’s lyrics

Kamal Haasan and Lokesh Kangaraj, the dynamic duo behind the hit film ‘Vikram,’ have once again joined forces, this time for a captivating video song titled ‘Inimel.’ Composed and conceptualized by Shruti Haasan, the song delves into the highs and lows of a contemporary relationship, with Kamal Haasan penning the lyrics. The track features Lokesh Kanagaraj and Shruti in the lead roles, showcasing their chemistry and acting prowess.

Produced by Kamal Haasan and R Mahendran’s Raajkamal Films International, ‘Inimel’ is helmed by director Dwarkesh Prabakar. The technical team includes renowned cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda, talented musician Yanchan, and skilled editor Philomin Raj.

While Lokesh was recently seen in a cameo in ‘Singapore Saloon,’ he is gearing up to collaborate with Rajinikanth for an upcoming project tentatively titled ‘Thalaivar 171.’ On the other hand, Shruti is set to headline the cross-cultural romantic comedy ‘Chennai Story’ and star alongside Adivi Sesh in the Hindi-Telugu bilingual ‘Dacoit.’ Additionally, she is slated to appear in ‘Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam,’ scheduled for release next year.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set to make his acting debut alongside Shruti Haasan and Kamal Haasan in the music video ‘Inimel.’ Although not a full-length film, this collaboration showcases Lokesh’s versatility as a filmmaker.

A week ago, Shruti teased the song on her Instagram, sharing a poster featuring two video game controllers, with the caption, “#Inimel all your Delulus Become Trulus.” She later shared a video revealing Lokesh’s acting debut, Kamal’s role as a lyricist, and Shruti’s composition for the song, captioned, “#Inimel Role Reverse is the New Verse.” Another poster showed Shruti and Lokesh in traditional attire, playing a game, with the caption, “No Winners No Losers, #Inimel only Players.”

On Thursday evening, Shruti released a teaser for the song, announcing that the full video of ‘Inimel’ will be released on March 25. She wrote, “#Inimel the game begins from 25th March. Mark the Moment!” The teaser features Shruti and Lokesh as lovers, captivating everyone with their on-screen chemistry. Numerous fans expressed their surprise at Lokesh’s acting skills in the comments.

Shruti’s last appearance was in ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire,’ directed by Prashanth Neel and starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. During an Instagram live session with fans, she gave an update about her upcoming projects, stating, “I am currently working on two films simultaneously. Neither of them is releasing yet.” She added, “Inimel is so opposite Monster Machine in terms of production, visuals, singing, everything.”

Shruti is set to star in ‘Dacoit,’ directed by Shaneil Deo and co-starring Adivi Sesh. The film, shot in Telugu and Hindi, showcases Shruti in a new avatar. Additionally, she will be seen in Philip John’s ‘Chennai Story,’ adding to her diverse filmography.
