Sci-Fi films are very very rare in Tamil cinema and probably one of the pioneering efforts if not the first in the genre is 'Indru Nettru Naalai' directed by Ravikumar and starring Vishnu Vishal, Karunakaran, Mia George and Arya. The film had time travel at as its theme and with a small budget satisfied all types of audiences with its novel approach and execution.

Producer C.V. Kumar has officially announced 'Indru Nettru Naalai 2' to be directed by S.P. Karthik who worked as an associate in 'Mundasupatti' and 'Indru Nettru Naalai'. The story and screenplay is written by Ravikumar himself while music will be handled by Ghibran and cinematography by Dinesh Krishnan. As of now Karunakaran is confirmed in the cast and the rest of the actors will be announced before the start of the shooting in September this year.
