'Ami Thumi' and 'Sammohanam' director Mohankrishna Indraganti has said that Cinema is the most peculiar of all the art forms.
"Cinema can reflect not only the maturity of a society but also its backwardness. In fact, some of the biggest hits actually reflect their society’s backwardness more than it’s maturity. Cinema is strangely useful in that sense," he said. "When a director’s ‘take’ on something finds vast approval, then it’s worth constructive inquiry and introspection. Especially if it’s detrimental to certain sections of the society and the filmmaker is incapable of seeing his/her own folly," he then said.
Is the sensible filmmaker indirectly saying something about 'Kabir Singh' and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga? "This is not with reference to Mr. Vanga or his Hindi film which I haven’t seen. I had expressed my problems with 'Arjun Reddy'. I stand by them. I am not interested in repeating them," Indraganti clarified.
He is currently making a thriller titled 'V'. Starring Nani, Sudheer Babu, Aditi Rao Hydari and Nivetha Thomas, the film will release later this year.
