Indira Canteen starts, Rahul slips and says Amma canteen

Although Congress I Vice President Rahul Gandhi immediately corrected his statement of Amma Canteen` to Indira Canteen, the rapid spread of Amma and stamp in his memory was evident from his speech after inauguration of Indira Canteen` in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

The Congress I government in Karnataka that has given Anna Bhagya` – Rupee 1 kilo rice to downtrodden is now offering one day three times food – breakfast, lunch and dinner at just Rs.25.

No one coming to Bengaluru should go hungry. The hygiene, quality should be maintained in this Indira Canteen felt Rahul Gandhi. The hunger is not known to people living in bungalows, people moving in cars etc. The construction workers, auto rickshaw drivers, petty shop owners would get benefited he pointed.

The state chief minister Siddaramaiah cutting a joke on this occasion said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has Man Ki Bath` and we have Vangi Bath` to fill hungry stomachs. The chief minister used this time to attack on the union government policies.

Among 198 Indira Canteens in all city corporation wards, 101 Indira Canteens are ready at affordable prices for the common people. The first of the 101 was inaugurated at Jayanagara Ward Kanakanapalya.

There are six kitchens as of now. It would increase to 22 kitchens that supplies food to all the 198 wards. All work would be ready by October 2, 2017.

KPCCI President Dr Paramehwar, KC Venugopal, Mallikarjuna Kharge, DK SHivakumar, KJ George, Mayor Padmavathi and others were present.

The BJP and JDS politicians abstained from the inauguration of Indira Canteen.
