Dirk Ahlborn's crowdsourced Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has just signed a prublic-private partnership deal with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board that will lead to a loop connecting Vijayawada and Amaravati.

According to their memorandum of understanding (MoU), HTT will investigate potential routes for the project. The initial phase might last six months, following which construction is expected to begin. As the cities are only 27 miles apart, there is a lot of hope around this project. The loop will bring journey time down from 70 minutes to six minutes, which would be a small step for the state and leap for India.
