Since the influx on online streaming content, people have a lot of entertainment gateways. Netflix is a major player and it has been doing great among Indian consumers as well. But here is a story of a man who might have watched just too much- that he got admitted for ‘addiction’.

A 26 year old Indian after watching the shows on the streaming platforms seven hours a day on average was admitted to a mental clinic to help him get rid of the habit. He had been suffering due to this behavior for the past six months. He also had fatigue, eye strain, and irregular sleeping cycles. He was treated at the Service for Healthy use of Technology(SHUT) at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore.

Reportedly, the binge-watching helped him forget his worries of being unemployed for a long period of time. So the takeaway lesson is to not use technology as a coping mechanism, according to doctors.
