Indian woman needs Rs 1 Cr for treatment of Coronavirus

Preeti Maheshwari, an Indian living in China's Shenzhen, has been infected by Coronavirus. Working as a primary art school teacher at the International School of Science and Technology, she is suffering from coronavirus pneumonia (type 1 respiratory failure), reports say. She has also been diagnosed with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome and septic shock.
Her family is having to incur huge amount of expenditure toward her treatment. Currently, Preeti is undergoing treatment in China. Her brother, who works for Amazon in Bengaluru, has sought the help of the Indian government and of healthcare crowdfunding groups.
In all, the family needs about Rs 1 Cr to fund the expensive treatment.
The good news is that Preeti is responding to early treatment. About Rs 15 lakh has been collected through online channels so far.
