The early morning strike by the Indian Air Force at a large JeM militant camp in Balakot in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir has brought great cheer to the Indian citizens who see it as a befitting reply for the suicide bomb attack in Pulwama where 40 Central Reserve Police personnel were killed.
The Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale has stated "A large number of JeM terrorists were killed. The strike avoided civil casualties credible intel [intelligence] was received that Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) was planning more suicide attacks in India. In the face of imminent danger, a pre-emptive strike became absolutely necessary."
However Pakistan is spreading news that the strike was a failure and their Major General Asif Gafoor has tweeted "Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzafarabad sector. Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage."
Indian aircrafts’ intrusion across LOC in Muzafarabad Sector within AJ&K was 3-4 miles.Under forced hasty withdrawal aircrafts released payload which had free fall in open area. No infrastructure got hit, no casualties. Technical details and other important information to follow.
