The Government of India today said that an Indian student lost his life in shelling in Kharkiv in Ukraine earlier on Tuesday morning. The External Affairs Ministry is in touch with the victim's family.
"The Foreign Secretary is calling in Ambassadors of Russia and Ukraine to reiterate our demand for urgent safe passage for Indian nationals who are still in Kharkiv and cities in other conflict zones. Similar action is also being undertaken by our Ambassadors in Russia and Ukraine," said Arindam Bagchi, official spokesperson of the External Affairs Ministry.
The official confirmation has saddened Indians at a time when the government is doing its best to bring back Indians stranded in the war-torn country. The relatives of thousands of Indian students, including from the Telugu States, are going through a nightmare because their family members are stuck in Ukraine in trying circumstances.
IndiaGlitz condoles the demise of the Indian student and extends profound sympathies to the victim's family!
