Earlier today, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told the Parliament something shocking. On December 9, China's PLA troops tried to transgress the Line of Actual Control in the Yangtse area of the Tawang Sector in Arunachal Pradesh unilaterally to change the status quo. The Minister added that the Chinese attempt was contested by Indian troops in a firm and resolute manner.
He further added that the scuffle led to injuries to a few personnel on both sides. "I wish to share with this House that there are no fatalities or serious casualties on our side," the Minister said. Due to the timely intervention of Indian commanders, PLA soldiers went back to their locations, the government revealed.
Meanwhile, India Today reported that the Chinese side was overwhelmed. The Indian soldiers successfully chased the attackers away. "The Indian Army group crossed over to the Chinese side and held ground for hours to issue a warning to the Chinese post at Yangtse," the report noted. Some Chinese soldiers were held by the Indian side and were later released after the Chinese side retreated.
It appears from media reports that our jawans gave the Chinese a befitting pushback.
