Indian Muslims neednt worry, Modi is doing right: Pawan Kalyan

Firming up his party's alliance with the BJP on Thursday, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan was all praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolve to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act.  At a presser in Vijayawada, the actor-politician said that Hindu and other minorities have been persecuted in Pakistan and Bangladesh, which is why the law is needed.

Talking about the need for the CAA, Pawan said, "Recently, a former Pakistani Hindu cricketer said that he was discriminated by his fellow teammates only because he is a Hindu.  If a top-class cricketer had to go through this, you can imagine the plight of Hindu and other minorities in Pakistan.  Who will come to their rescue?  Gandhi ji said after Partition that such minorities have to be saved by us.  That's what Nehru and others too said.  That's what the BJP is fulfilling today through the CAA."

Pawan assured that the Indian Muslims needn't worry about the CAA.  "A lie has been spread that the citizenship of Muslims of this country will be taken away by the CAA.  This law doesn't affect our citizens in any way.  India is a secular country in a Hindu way.  We are a strong country because of Hindu pluralism," he signed off.
