Amidst the border tensions between India and China, the Indian government has announced its decision to ban 59 Chinese applications. The Ministry of Information Technology has announced the ban of these apps as they are indulging in activities prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.

Some of the banned apps include most popular ones like Tik Tok, Shareit, Shein, Clash of Kings, Helo, Likee, Club Factory, Mi Community, UC Browser, CamScanner, etc. This move is intended to protect Indian mobile and internet as per the government statement.

The Ministry of Information and Technology issued a statement that they have been receiving many complaints on the anti social behaviour of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms to steal user data and misuse them for wrong purposes.
