In the meeting with the royal family which took place on Wednesday, Pakistan Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed came in traditional attire, a shalwar kameez. He paired the white outfit with the green blazer of his team. While all the other captains were dressed in suits, Sarfaraz Ahmed stayed true to his nation in his choice of outfit. While some began to question this, many showed their support for the wicketkeeper-batsman. Among the trollers was Pakistan-born Canadian writer Tarek Fatah. But surprisingly, Fatah’s comments did not go down well even with Indian fans.

Several Indian fans defended the Pakistan Captain for being confident and embracing his culture. They highlighted that foreigners would not wear Kurta Pyjama when they made visits to the Indian Prime Minister, and nor would the Queen wear a saree.
