The Indian Embassy today asked Indian nationals living in Kyiv in Ukraine to urgently leave the city today through any mode possible. The advisory has been seen as a major indication that Russia is going to launch the ultimate assault on Kyiv very soon.
Here are the exact words of the advisory: "All Indian nationals including students are advised to leave Kyiv urgently today. Preferably by available trains or through any other means available."
The advisory has alarmed many Indian nationals, who are worried for the safety of thousands of Indians, mostly students, who have been living in Ukraine. They have been stranded due to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Spectator Index reported that the UK Ministry of Defence intelligence today said that Russia has failed to gain control of Ukraine's airspace and advance on Kyiv has made little progress since yesterday.
The Government of India has said that, so far, 8000 Indian citizens have successfully been brought back to India. S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India, said that the government will not rest till our fellow Indians are safe. "Ninth #OperationGanga flight departs Bucharest for New Delhi with 218 Indian nationals," he tweeted last midnight.
