Has India just offered a solution to Coronavirus? If a report by CNN-News18 is anything to go by, a team of doctors from Jaipur has come up with a drug that cures COVID-19.
As per the report, the doctors have claimed that they have successfully treated an infected Italian national with a "combination of drugs". "Doctors in India claim to have successfully treated an Italian COVID-19 patient with a combination of Lopinavir, Ritonavir, Oseltamivir and Chloroquine, a treatment protocol reportedly approved by India's official health governing body, ICMR," says a Twitter handle that gives updates/alerts on the flu and has a following of more than 26,000.
Some are skeptical about the claim. "Has it been proven? First of all, if I know as a layman, a virus has no cure and it must run its own course. One can only minimize/mitigate secondary infections/complications. Rest is irresponsible and sensational reporting," writes senior journalist Ghose Spot.
