Indian fast pacer Shardul Thakur got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Mittali Parulkar in a private ceremony in Mumbai on Monday that was attended by teammate Rohit Sharma. The couple got engaged at Mumbai Cricket Association’s facility in BKC with 75-odd guests in attendance.
The 30-year-old pace-bowling allrounder is currently on a break and was rested from the home series against New Zealand after returning from the T20 World Cup. Also, it was reported that Thakur is likely to get married to Mittali Parulkar after the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 which will be held in Australia.
Shardul Thakur's fiancee Mittali Parulkar runs a start-up company known as All The Bakes in Thane For the intimate engagement ceremony, Mittali and Shardul opted for traditional ensembles. While Shardul looked dapper in a bottle-green-coloured kurta, paired with an off-white pyjama, on the other hand, his bride-to-be was seen wearing a pink Banaras saree. Mittali accessorised her look with gold jewellery, including a choker neckpiece and matching earrings.
Shardul Thakur was last seen on a cricket field during the 2021 T20 World Cup. The right-arm pacer played 2 matches in the tournament but failed to scalp a single wicket. After the T20 World Cup, Thakur was given a break by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and is not a part of the Indian side that is currently taking on New Zealand at home. He is expected to play a key role in South Africa where India will play a series of 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and 4 T20 internationals from December 17 to January 26.
