A brother and his sister from Punjab are under the radar for procuring Australian visas by supplying false documents and fake passports. The siblings reached abroad by projecting themselves as husband and wife, a report says.
In India, the siblings started out by securing a fake marriage certificate from a local court. Using the certificates, they applied for visa using the woman's cousin's documents. Once they reached Australia, they applied for a spousal visa and got one.
"Does this count as jugaad? Brother marries his sister from Punjab so she can enter Australia on spousal visa," jocularly says Michael Safi.
The duo is currently on the run. Indian police authorities too want them. If and when deported to India, they will be tried under relevant Indian laws.
