Ravindra Jadeja to announce retirement from Test cricket?

Multiple media reports recently claimed that Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was considering announcing retirement from Test cricket in order to prolong his white-ball career.

Jadeja had recently suffered a forearm injury during the home series against New Zealand last month and had to opt out of the final Test. He is not part of the Test squad for the South Africa series either due to the same issue. This further fueled speculations regarding his retirement from the longest format. The reliable all-rounder, however, has now put an end to all the rumours. Jadeja took to his Twitter page to share two cryptic posts, one of which read, “Fake friends believe in rumours. Real friends believe in you.”

Confirming that he intends to play Test cricket for a long time, the cricketer shared another post of himself in a Test jersey with the caption “Long way to go.” Jadeja has scored a total of 2195 runs in 57 Test matches, including 17 fifties and a hundred, and has also taken 232 wickets so far.
