As reported by us earlier, director Shankar has scouted for locations with cameraman Ravi Varman in foreign shores for his magnum opus 'Indian 2' which reunites him with Kamal Haasan after 22 years since 'Indian'. The film has Nayanthara as the leading lady and Ajay Devgan as the antagonist and both the super busy stars have reportedly been paid a lump sum advance by producers Lyca Productions. Anirudh is on board to score the music for the first time in his career for the Ulaganayagan.

The shooting of 'Indian 2' will commence by the end of September once Kamal finishes his 'Bigg Boss 2 Tamil' hosting duties. First and foremost it is believed that Kamal will once again play dual roles in the film. It is said that the "Indian Thaatha" Senathipathi's portions will begin in a foreign country following the last shot in the original movie and continue to India where the freedom fighter will declare war against corrupt politicians who affect the economy and stop growth. Sources add that there is also a pre-Independence portion in the story involving Kamal.

Kamal has already announced that he will not be signing any more films to concentrate on his political career signalling that 'Indian 2' would well be the last film in his five decades old distinguished film career.
