A big row has erupted between top director Shankar and Lyca Productions over the long delay of the ambitious 'Indian 2' starring Kamal Haasan. Shankar had opted to direct two films 'RC15' in Telugu and 'Anniyan' remake in Hindi but Lyca went to court seeking a ban on other films before completing their project.
The court initially asked the two warring parties to come for an understanding and gave them time but while Lyca wanted Shankar to finish the project in the month of July he countered that he needed time from July to October. He had also cited that the scenes of late actor Vivek who has done an important character had to be reshot. Lyca was given permission to go for an appeal on the ban on Shankar.
Shankar has now filed his counter-petition in which he has stated that he is not in any way the reason for the delay and it entirely rests on Lyca Productions. He further added that Kamal Haasan suffered a makeup allergy which caused the initial delay and later the on-set accident that claimed the lives of three crew members and the coronavirus pandemic.
Fans of 'Indian 2' are hoping that the differences are sotted out and the work on the mega movie is resumed. The film which has music by Anirudh has an ensemble cast of Kamal, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Siddharth and Delhi Ganesh.
