Shankar's magnum opus 'Indian 2' starring Kamal Haasan is once again on the floors after almost more than a year's delay. Red Giant Movies has joined hands with Lyca Productions and currently the shooting is going on in Chennai on grand sets erected by production designer T. Muthuraj. Kamal Haasan who just returned from the US is likely to join the sets from the coming week.
It is well known that two major stars Vivek and Nedumudi Venu who were a part of 'Indian 2' passed away. Guru Somasundaram has replaced Vivek and several actors were considered for the CBI cop role played by Nedumudi Venu who was also a part of the 1996 original cast.
Sources say that Shankar has zeroed in on Malayalam character actor Nandhu Pothuval to star in the role of Inspector Krishnaswamy replacing Venu. It is said that since there is a close ressemblance between Nandhu and the late veteran the choice was automatic.
'Indian 2' has music by Anirudh and stars Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Siddharth, Samuthirakani, Manobala, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Vennela Kishore. George Maryan, Sivaji Guruvayoor,
Vinod Sagar, Deepa Shankar and Shyam Prasad among others.
