Kamal Haasan's upcoming biggie 'Indian 2', directed Shankar is one of the most anticipated films not only in Tamil cinema but all over the country as well. The original 'Indian' released in 1996 was a hug pan Indian blockbuster which also won the Best Actor National Award for Kamal.
An intro video of 'Indian 2' was unveiled by Rajinikanth, Mohan Lal, Amir Khan, Kicha Sudeepa and S.S. Rajamouli representing the Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu versions. Fans are going gaga over the visuals and there is also a buzz in the industry that 'Indian 3' is also getting ready and will release in 2025 followed by the sequel's release in Summer 2024.
Meanwhile the 'Indian 2' intro video shows us glimpses of four legendary actors who passed away during the making of the film namely Vivek, Manobala, Nedumudi Venu and Marimuthu. Netizens are lauding Shankar for retaining the characters of these actors as a tribute to them.
Nedumudi Venu, who acted in the first part of 'Indian', played an important character in the second film. He passed away in October 2021. It was a long pending dream cum true opportunity for Vivek to act with Kamal Haasan for the first time in his career. But unfortunately the ace comedy and character artiste passed away on 17th April 2021. Actor and director Manobala a close friend of Kamal from their young age was also elated to act in 'Indian 2' but breathed his last on the 3rd of last May. The other notable star who passed away is Marimuthu recently on September 8th.
'Indian 2' jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies has music by Anirudh with Ravi Varma handling the camera, A . Sreekhar Prasad the editing and T. Muthuraj the production design. The ensemble cast of the film comprises Kamal Haasan, Sidharth, Kajal Agarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Surya, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Brahmanandam, Delhi Ganesh, Jagan, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Akhilendra Mishra and Samuthirakani.
