Trouble again for Shankar as court admits Lyca Productions appeal

Director Shankar and leading production house Lyca are at loggerheads due to their troubled project 'Indian 2' starring Kamal Haasan. The production house has alleged that Shankar overshot the budget while the director has defended himself that the delays were caused by unforeseen circumstances including Kamal's makeup glitch, an on-set fatal accident and the coronavirus pandemic.

When Lyca went to court Shankar had offered to complete the shooting of 'Indian 2' from July to September this year but an amicable solution could not be arrived in spite of the court appointing an arbitrator.

Shankar moved on to two other projects 'RC 15' starring Ram Charan Teja and 'Anniyan' remake starring Ranveer Singh. Lyca once again sought a stay against him directing any other film without completing 'Indian 2'. The single judge who heard the case refused to grant stay.

Lyca went for an appeal and the case came for hearing today with the bench comprising of judges Sanjeev Banerjee and Adhikesavulu. It was requested to admit the case without the judgement copy of the previous order which was accepted.

The bench ordered the case to be numbered which could once again become a headache to Shankar who is into preproduction of 'RC 15'.
