Shankar's first highly emotional message after 'Indian 2' accident

The horrific accident at the shooting spot of 'Indian 2' on February 19th claimed the lives of three people Assistant director Krishna and crew members Chandran and Madhu. The mishap occurred due to a huge crane carrying a heavy light malfunctioning and crashed to the ground. Ten people were injured while director Shankar, hero Kamal Haasan and heroine Kajal Aggarwal had a lucky escape.
Director Shankar has for the first time opened up about the 'Indian 2' accident and it is heart wrenching that he feels he prefers to have been one of the victims instead of his colleagues. The ace director has written "It is with utmost grief, I’m tweeting.Since the tragic incident,I’ve been in a state of shock & having sleepless nights on the loss of my AD & crew.Having missed the crane by a whisker,I feel it would’ve been better if it was on me. Heartfelt condolences & prayers to the families".
'Indian 2' the sequel to the Kamal-Shankar blocbuster 1996 film 'Indian' has Kamal, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Siddharth, Manobala and Vivek in the cast. It is unknown when the troubled project will resume after the tragic accident.
